Music Ink 2004

Chapter 1:
Music Ink

I must say that this concert has been so far the best of Vocal Consort. I really enjoyed myself very much, and it did not seem like a chore to sing. It was well-prepared, especially for our small group item. We really spent a lot of time and effort over the weekends to practice on our own. Felt the ownership of the songs were there, maybe because we memorized our songs and we sang with feeling. Especially for the james taylor medley and time to say goodbye. It was so sad, because we know that some of the members will be leaving consort after this concert.

Everything went smoothly, although we were a bit tight on timing, but I can say that it was a job well done by tai jim. Hope that we can have a concert debrief soon, and can thrash out the ���iccups?we encountered.

I felt that this concert brought the whole of consort closer to one another. I think it is through the small groups and we sort of took helm and charge of our own songs and items. We really want to made the songs our songs and do our best. And I think that the level of satisfaction is higher.

It really felt good during our small group performance when we sang lonesome road, to song for you faraway, you are my only one and climax at shower the people. During the item, it didn��� felt as if I were singing a choral piece. Each of us took our lines and sang with whatever feelings we need to attach to the song. It was a great feeling. Enjoyed shower the people, when we clapped and the rest of the choir came out for the finale in a jingly manner. It was so funny. Think they also enjoyed themselves and all were very hyped up. I love how we ended. The flowers were and impromptu thing. Thought of throwing confetti, but got to know a few days before concert that it was banned. So we used flowers. Even before our item, we were still not sure that if the flowers throwing effect will be good or not. But I think it came off better than confetti!! The cheers and applause were loud and ecstatic (at least we all were).

Chapter 2:
Time to say goodbye

The final song of concert. It was meant to be sung to the audience, but to me, it felt more endearing because I��� singing it to people who are leaving consort after this consort. People like reuben , lila, peixin etc. It is so sad. We got to know each other better during the practices and off practices time spent together in preparing for this concert. It is as if you were brought up to the highest point and then being released and drop into the abyss (maybe not that jialat la). But you get what I mean. Nothing is forever, but I think friendship is. Really glad to know people like Reub n lila. Special mention of their name cos I think that I learnt a lot from them. They have seen so much of the world eep reub and his experience in life in invaluable to most of us. And he certainly gives advice well, and I will definitely miss his cock jokes and evil laughter. Lila is like the da jie of our group. She handles things so well and people respect her. Heard Kenneth may leave also. OMG!! Kenneth!! Shicheng also.. argh~ the more I think about it, the worse I feel. On another note, they are leaving consort because they need to attain some other goals in their life, and I shall be happy for them!! I hope that we can really keep in contact still. Hope no more ppl in grp 3 is going to stun me by saying they will leave. If not I���l kill them!! Muahaha~

Chapter 3:
James Taylor Group

Think small group practices really bond us more closely together. We interacted more with one another, people like yihern, qihui, shicheng and my xue jie, huiyin. It��� fun lor. And will always remember yihern��� lame jokes during dinner or supper after practices. Super lame guy. And Debbie too. Thought she��� the kind of young lady who��� not very approachable, but in fact she isn���! lots of crap like us too!! Hope we can stay as group 3 forever! Think none of the members will forget about our identity for music ink and for vocal consort in 2004! Always remember the time we spent together brainstorming on ideas for choreo, joked and laughed, loads of crap shit. Haha!! like songnian��� classic ���is is a song for u?movement. Or how Kenneth walked his steps with difficulty at first, and how he imitate William hung!!! That was the best!! It was so fun throughout. Although I had to sacrifice my weekends, it was very much worth it.

Chapter 4:
Thinking back?

How has consort progressed.. I think that we had improved in our singing and sound generally. But most importantly is the spirit and identity that has grown. The friendships forged in the choir, some already left the choir, but we still kept in contact, like chiakyin and timothy. These are priceless entities; no money can buy us true friendships like these. Really appreciative that I had the chance to be in the vocal consort. And after 3 years, I can say that I really love this choir, and now, even more so. Although there are times when I felt really sian of it, but when I see how the choir has progressed and will be in future, I will stay as long I have the time. Until the point in life when I think that I have more important tasks to fulfill, then I will make the inevitable choice of leaving. I think most who left or are leaving are feeling the same way, and made struggles before they came to the conclusion of leaving. All the best, to you people and to vocal consort.

Chapter 5:
Thank you Guys!!

I want to express my deepest gratitude to all my friends who came down to support me despite their busy schedules. First of all the Igualans!! Where will I be without you guys?! Thanks jenn, got project to rush, but still came to support me. Chilli, got test the next day. Fat, always there for me (to double as my stead at times) n helped me in many other ways, like all the shit work..haha!! Ang, always there at other people��� concert but not his!! Sam the herbivore and his beloved. Have to spent $40 take cab again. Super cor.. haha!! Not forgetting, qiulong my ajc buddy!! Thanks bro!! HAHA!! how can I forget junie!! She got substance ok?! Thanks babe. Need to catch up with XFP soon, long time no tok to her. And Mingxia n her sis, thanks!! Too bad didn��� get to say thanks personally. Thanks for ur support again!!

To pris, thanks a lot. Think I thank u a lot of times le. For giving me invaluable advice and info and introducing ur fren to me. Will try to pursue my dream if all things r smooth. To shuhui, thanks noriko!! So surprised when u said u wanna come, and loved choir concerts. Sini, thanks for supporting me also!! And Lingfang, thanks a million!! Think you are the loyal vocal consort supporter yah?!

Last but not least, I need to thank the vocal consort, the admin ppl, the members as well, for making tis concert so memorable for me and for everyone else
