an inconvenient truth

i recommend everyone to watch this movie documentary on global warming. Al Gore said it very well "Political will is a renewable resource". Each and everyone of us can stop global warming by reducing carbon emissions, recycle, buy more energy efficient products etc. But most importantly is to spread awareness about the truth that mankind is facing. being a scientifically trained mind, i can understand that the truth often hurts but some people tend not to believe the truth. when bad things happen, they slumped from delusion to despair without the intermediate step of trying to solve the problem.

We have to take action now. Spread the word, talk to people, get them to watch the movie at least. Mr Al Gore has been campaigning to stop global warming since he lost in 2001 presidential elections. He spoke in many conferences in US, Europe, China and Japan. That is only 1 man's effort. Imagine what the world can achieve when everyone of us do a part in restoring some normalcy into the earth system!

Many of us can't be bothered with these issues. "let the politicians and activists sort it out, while i need to take care of my own living". Well, if this goes on, there will probably be no "living" in 50 years time. We might be dealing with more serious problems then. Food shortage, new diesases, rising sea levels etc are just some of the global problems that might surface.

Mankind has survived many thousands of years. Are we going to let it end in this generation of ours? With advances in scientific knowledge and technoligy, can we not curb global warming? I believe we can, and so should you. so please spread the word, think about this issue, increase awareness around us and hopefully the combined efforts of the protectors of our only home - the Earth, will come good.
