I have been wondering about the predisposition of a person's personality. I think human-human interactions and emotions are the most difficult things to study. What actually triggers the brain to say "hey this person is interesting" or 'yucks, get lost".... Each individual is different, genetically different which translates to physical differences. Furthermore there are environmental factors that mould one's personality, including family, society, past experiences etc. To bring the matter into a much more complex paradigm, there's the issue of "subconsious cognitive" part in how we interpret senses in our brains. Sometimes, we find ourselves looking at something, and somehow we just don't like it. Intuitive.
Before we can explore that area, we have to look at what we can do now. Nothing. We are only scratching the surface in neuroscience research. There is so much more things to be discovered. Maybe one day, we will be able to dicipher why there is tension between individuals, find ways to curb that, make the world into a better place to live in. That seems like a tall order. But nothing in this world is impossible, only highly probable or impropable.
Science fiction will one day be non-fiction (if that day comes, but I am optismistic that it will).
